Rd, with your experience what are the advantages that you like?  For stock the doo 1200 is the best sounding stock 4 imo.

Don't be too manly to ask for directions.   What intersection are you at now.

we watch his videos good stuff.   I'm convinced more top end would be there with a button secondary.

Best conditions I've seen in years for lower mi.  I'm wore out and have had an excellent season of trail riding.  Only made it out on the ice twice this season and new setup is awsome.  Need to figure out how to the skis down on the ice now.

One time I rode my mom's ss because my track was ripped and a guy I was riding with was on a zr9 and he couldn't shake me all day.   That sled beat him up all day and I reeled him in closer as the day went on.  He looked  back in disbelief the whole day.   Half throttle or full  throttle  the top end speed was the same so I  just duct taped it at half throttle.

Polaris' remedy for detonation with the 550 fan was heavier primary weights.  Maybe it was/is a harmonic issue.

Don't you head out west?  Seems like you'd want to make changes.  Standard primary taper and standard spline or keyed jackshaft would be nice.

General Snowmobile Discussion / whitestar auction prices
« on: March 07, 2013, 12:09:39 PM »
Has anyone been to Whitestar lately?  The prices are so low that it's making me wonder what's going on down there.  Just a bunch of junk or an opportunity to snag a good sled at a good price?

With my perceived idea of the intended use of the 550 fan, the oddball clutch choice didn't seem like a concern.  Buy a low price point sled and just ride it.  The long track 550 throws a new twist into things.   For my perceived use of the long track it seems like clutch tuning may be important.   Could be a tuning headache.

That's an insane amount of track for that fanner to spin.

Suzuki might be their only option for four strokes.  It looks like they pulled the 750 from the lineup for next season.  I think that it was available in 2013?

I'm sure the rr600 would be more than competition for the cat 500.  Polaris' thin motor line-up makes a lot of sense in this economy.   The benefit of attempting to operate with low overhead will work for them in the future.   Polaris is producing fantastic sleds and they are sticking to the middle of the market.   Smart move.

Cat is relying on Yamaha for their four strokes.  Didn't cat put up a new engine plant? Cat will have their own 2s program. I'm guessing that cat will have their own 4s motor specs (Yamaha has their build specs) and cat will come to the table with higher hp in the same motor.
