General Snowmobile Discussion / Polaris Rear Suspension Set Up
« on: November 18, 2013, 05:46:53 PM »
Another reason why we come here... You can ask a technical question and someone here is going to know the answer...

Now to the question.

I haven't worked on a stock Polaris suspension in quite a while so while following the owners manual for the 700 Dragon to set up the suspension I think I have a problem (sacked out torsion springs).
To set the rear sag or sit in the manual says to lift the rear to extend completely (and I assume it should stay there under spring tension) then measure the bumper height. Then have the rider get on the sled and jump up and down to get the suspension to settle then while the rider is on the sled measure again and set the torsion springs to give 3 inches of sag. This I understand but...

When I lift the rear of the sled to get it to extend it drops down again without any weight applied. The movement is in the rear scissor and with the torsion springs set on high the rear scissor does not stay against the FRSS which I think it should?

Here is where the scissor is with the back of the sled lifted and where I think it should stay until a rider gets on...

Here is where it is sitting on the floor with no weight applied...

I have the torsion springs set on high... are they sacked out?

07 D7.... 5K on the clock with lots of goodies including 1.25 ice ripper.

Commercial for the X finity X1 platform...

Sounds like he asks the programmers to work on a "Cheeto" command at the end!

Looking for a good garden hose reel, they all seem to get bad reviews on line. Every one that I have had had issues of some type.

Roll around carts pull over while you are trying to pull the hose out.
Wall mounts stack the hose unevenly so when you pull the hose it all jambs up on it's self and I just ended up ripping my current wall mount off the wall and beating into small pieces to force myself to replace it.
I have been looking at the auto rewind ones but they seem to get poor ratings because the leaver that triggers the rewind breaks.

I did find this one and it is the only contender so far.

General Snowmobile Discussion / Guys with Dodge tow vehicles...
« on: April 09, 2012, 03:26:45 PM »
2009 1500 series Dodge pickup was towed into my buddies shop for a no start.

Good spark and no fuel pressure, FP relay check out good but no power to the pump (in the tank) so we started looking for harness connections.
There is a plug right behind the left front wheel in just the right spot to get all the road spray from the tire.
Opened it up and lookie here...

I would suggest the connection be opened up several times a year and some dielectric grease added.

BTW the plug also includes the wiring for the rear lights...

IE9 and Bing the fruit cakes search engine in it's place...

I used their own tech against them... did a system restore to two days ago and turned auto update off... Balmer you suck!
