2014 Polaris

What, no comments? Doesn't sound like the faithful are very happy with the BNG. Most are saying wait until the 60th anniversary next year, probably rightfully so- looks like Doo and Cat are the big news this year.

They just re-arranged the deck chairs and make a couple 'new' sleds from the parts bin. The 600 Indy Voyager looks the most interesting to me but the track lugs are too big for it to be a crossover 'Switchback' type of sled.
Current Sleds in Stock: None. SOLD OUT!

That 550 Voyager has a 1.38" lug - which they should have put on the 600, instead of a 2".

Maybe they should name the 600 Voyager the 'trail destroyer'. Groomers should call Polaris and complain.

They made so many changes over the last 2 years I really didn't expect much this year. I still love my 2012. In 2011 they released the most talked about mountain sled and last year they dropped another 17lbs or so off of it plus a belt drive. Also introduced the indy with a traditional tunnel. There really isn't much more for them to do until they release the new sleds that are in developement. I am hopping some new motors as well. I'm kind of surprised that has not happened yet.

Doo had a new motor but the 2014 summit is basically the same as the 2013 as well. Cat, well add Yamaha.

I like their lineup.  Nice line of lightweight 2 strokes, with your choice of traditional or radical skids for the trail crowd, and a mountain lineup the rest of the industry still hasn't come close to touching in three years from a chassis standpoint.  All at the best prices in the industry.  What's not to like?

My new ride has the 1.25 X 137.
After further evaluation I'm coming to the conclusion that track does LESS damage to a trail IF driven properly, than a shorty.

Roady; "I just wonder why the big 4 can't produce somnething that remotely ready out of the box"

Myself;  "Even when working properly, the E/S on these cats sounds like a vintage scooby doo lunch box full of hotwheels getting tossed down a flight of concrete stairs."

After witnessing the trenching that Mrs. SNO4ME was doing with the GSX, I'm not sure that I agree!  ;)

I think that makes the most sense.
Thank back to the 2003 REV, they continued to work the bugs out and refined those machines in the 2-3 years to follow. Same applies here. Although the 2014 Polaris models don't stand out (as something shocking and new), they might be some of the best machines out on the market.

Nothing new from Poo I'd want except the same SWB8 with another 2 or 4 year warranty. My motor warranty is over this season. I really like my 12 SWB8. Fantastic traction and weight transfer on take off. A gearing and clutch weight change and the midrange is a real arm  stretcher.              More than a handfull at times if you are not carefull. Very fun, but can leave this old out of shape guy tired after a aggressive days ride.. I still like that new Viper though.
Summer SUCKS!!

and ...... another season without a sled to compete against Cat's Sno Pro 500.   :(

Oh... well, maybe a late release, or next year for a XCR 500 Cross Country Racer.
