RIP HiMiler...
« on: November 09, 2014, 05:03:18 PM »
It is with great sadness I report the passing of Art Pelky my neighbor and friend at camp.

Details are sketchy but reports are he was at our other neighbors camp Frank Nichols watching football Saturday. He got up... went outside and returned with beers for everyone. He sat down opened his beer grimaced and tried to get up but could not. Those there administered CPR until EMTs arrived who continued the CPR and they defibbed him twice with no luck. We assume it was a heart attack.

Art (blue cap) and me (gray shirt) decking a bridge for our club...

I understand the dilemma. Correct spelling takes time that could be spent licking the windows on the short bus.

I'm really sorry to hear that.  He was a lot of fun when Tom and I came out a few years ago.

Sad indeed. He looked good the last time I saw him at Frank's before my surgery.

I remember that bridge well, Art cut all the trees down and I stretched my wheeler dragging/winching out 40+ foot logs. I thinks that's my back side facing everyone in the far corner installing a post and Dick Sellers with the cup in his hand.

We lost two others that helped on that bridge; Dick Sellers & Linda Calonis.

I saw a woman wearing a sweat shirt with 'Guess' on it.

Hard to believe we've lost that many.  RonTOF was one of the first to make that list.

Last year I corresponded with Art or maybe it was before last season when he was just finishing up treatments for something else.  He said he wanted to try to get out here and stay at the shack and meet the midwest group.  Got to riding with my boys and kind of forgot about it til now.  Be a lot of fun if any of you wanted to venture out this way.  You could stay at my place - we could hoist a couple for Art.

Headin up tomorrow to make sure the shack is functioning for winter.  Besides there's a foot and a half of snow in the driveway up there.

Prolly a few more, there's quite a few MIA.

For instance, what happened to the fella that killed his wife, s/b on parole by now?

Whatever the case. HiMiler, I may not have known you ftf, but I did know of you. RIP.

To a good friend that put together many group rides, weather it being snowmobiling, four wheeling, or just a Daytona party at his camp. Loved to see people enjoying a good time even that Saturday night sitting around joking and busting on each other while watching a football game at Frank's camp.
